There is still few bugs it seems, from the initial setup the number buttons supposed to indicate different weapon fire combinations, but only the "1" works on the keyboard, on the mouse it is fine though where all 4 buttons on my mouse fire different combinations which are customizable. Planes are little hard to control with a mouse, but that what a good stick is for. It controls well too, I tried just a Raven so far, and just with mouse and keyboard, so time to dust of that joystick of mine. I still have to see that volcano map, it looked great in the screens. The graphics are awesome, one map in the swamp has a abandoned base with a Dropship covered with vegetation, and I am not sure but I think it has a day/night cycle too, though I still have to see how the Mechs look in action since there does not appear to be a third person view. I just played around locally for some 10 minutes to play around with controls by myself, and so far I am quite impressed with the quality. This comment was edited on Dec 27, 2009, 16:38. This team deserves credit simply for following through on what they said they were going to do. There have been countless mod teams over the years who started doing a Battletech mod only to drop out when things got rough.

Overall though, these guys have a done a remarkable job with this. Also, if you want to use a Joystick you have to fiddle with an. Some can only play for 5-10 minutes before the game locks up at which point you have to ctrl-alt-del out and restart. The biggest issues presently seem to be game crashes for some folks. You don't get the big mechs right away since you need to earn more "C-Bills" through successful gameplay. You can start out in a light mech or other lesser vehicle (or even just using your power armor). You choose your vehicles the same way you choose your weapon loadouts in Crysis, by a pop-up menu. Like everyone else my attention was primarily on the mechs but you come to find out that ALL the vehicles are fun to play around with. The power armor (the suit you spawn in) is a blast in and of itself. You can tell they put a lot of time into tweaking the feel of every vehicle. Theres a few rough edges here but given the sheer amount of work that had to go into this mod (3 years)its forgivable (plus its only the 1st beta candidate).
